Redefining eCredo – Modernizing Technology and User Experience
eCredo approached Code & Pepper with a complicated task. We had to redefine the entire product to meet modern standards on multiple levels. We have replaced the outdated technology stack, as well as redesigned the application, implementing a new user experience (UX) layer.
Vision and expertise for the service of the user
eCredo came to us with a need and a vision. The company wanted to implement new solutions, based on technologies we use every day. The client had a technical vision for the application, a sketch for the product architecture and a list of tools to use in the development process. The goal was to service customers with a rebuild, refreshed and redesigned product.
The problem was that eCredo had mixed experiences in the past. Previous vendors had undermined confidence in their abilities. We had to work for weeks to convince our partners of our abilities to deliver. In the end, everything worked as planned – within timeframe and budget.
The biggest challenge – product requirements
Strict requirements, as well as cooperation with one person on the client’s side, posed some difficulties. This specialist was responsible for designing the first version of the application, as well as translating product vision on tasks for Code & Pepper. Additionally, he was reporting progress to the board. A lot of responsibility for one person, which slowed down the process a bit.
As a software development vendor, we had to cooperate within these boundaries. We had to also create a product roadmap, while processing the backlog. Also, the team was charged with UX design and verifying progress through multiple stakeholders, which prolonged the entire process.
End-to-end development with a twist
Because the client already had a vision for the architecture of the product, we could begin the development while working on the UX. That streamlined the development, enabling time optimization. At the same time, the development team analyzed functionalities in a legacy product.
The Result
Applications need to be adjusted for the changing times. Market expectations and users’ needs change and products’ functionalities need to reflect that. We were able to redefine eCredo to meet new standards while keeping what was good in the first place. eCredo is a company that serves the people of Cyprus. The population of over 1,2 million has now the ability to manage their finances with ease. All thanks to our client that came with a clear goal and expectations.
