Qdeck is a cloud-based fintech wealth management platform that offers quantitative financial technology to wealth managers and institutional financial professionals.
Through the power of AI and multiple entry points for data, the company enables advisors to access models with big cost reductions. The platform combines publicly available market data feeds, alternative investment databases, advanced analysis tools, and automation.

Migration and Optimization of the Qdeck Application
The client has a web application that was based on JavaScript, which wasn’t entirely effective. Our job was to move the entire product to a new programming environment, optimizing performance along the way.
Qdeck’s code was based on the idea that each time the product is being accessed by the user, the application is utilizing its whole code. We had to partition the product into smaller blocks and use only those that were actually needed. That provided a significant boost in the application’s performance.
We have also moved the entire application to new tech. Now Qdeck is supported by the newest versions of frameworks, libraries, and tools. The application was big and complex enough that legacy code and older versions of development tools did not match growing ambitions and business needs. Among others, we have updated the rooting of the page, as well as MaterialUI.
We have also implemented new designs for the application, previously made by the client’s internal team.
Additionally, we have implemented the Next.js framework. It was necessary for higher performance of the page since the code is being pre-rendered on the server’s side and relieves the application when there’s high traffic. There are also additional possibilities for tables and graphics rendering optimization. This is crucial for a company like Qdeck, delivering and visualizing data for its users.
Finally, we have performed automated testing for the application. We have also implemented and configured tools for future testing, preparing the platform for a larger scale of use.
Complete Migration Thanks to the Transfer of the Codebase
The main challenge was migrating the product from JavaScript to TypeScript. The project was very advanced and we had to move the entire code base into a new environment. That brought bumps along the way which our team tackled one by one.
The result? Qdeck was now moved to TypeScript and no traces of legacy technology are currently present.
