About Rigt
RIGT, a company already providing financial services to Iraqi customers, sought to modernize its offerings by developing a new application, NASS E-Payment. This app was designed to deliver a Western/European experience, integrating existing RIGT services while introducing new ones and eventually adding lifestyle services such as transportation and entertainment. This aligns with the growing trend of super-apps in the region. The application was to be developed for web and mobile platforms (Android, iOS, Harmony OS) and available in English, Arabic, and Kurdish.
Bringing a New Quality to the Iraqi Market
The primary goal was to create a modern, user-friendly financial application for Iraq that could compete with Western standards while considering the specific needs of the Middle Eastern market. Key challenges included the broad scope of work, the unique characteristics of the Iraqi market, and various technical and legal constraints.
To meet these requirements, we had to adjust the navigation, functionality, and overall user experience to fit the Middle Eastern market. Steering away from “Western thinking” and following the client’s guidance allowed us to better understand the unique needs of this customer group.
The project was initially developed in English with future plans for translation into Arabic. Creating a scalable solution that could be adapted to Arabic, a language read from right to left, added an additional layer of complexity to the design.
Transforming Vision into Application
Pre-implementation Analysis
Conducted an extensive pre-implementation analysis to understand the client’s needs, define project requirements, and identify key functionalities for the application. This phase was crucial for ensuring that all stakeholders had a shared understanding of the project goals and expectations.
Product Phase
Created a detailed roadmap and defined both functional and non-functional requirements. The objective was to ensure that the project would be executed according to the client’s expectations and meet all necessary standards.

Design Phase
Designing the wireframes, prototypes, and overall look and feel of the application was a critical step. Ensured that the user interface would be intuitive and modern, tailored to the specifics of the Iraqi market while aligning with Western standards.

Architecture Phase
Developing the software architecture was another significant milestone. Ensured that the chosen architecture was scalable, secure, and capable of supporting the various functionalities of the application, including handling multiple currencies, QR code payments, and integration with existing RIGT systems.

Comprehensive Solutions in NASS E-Payment
The NASS E-Payment application offers a wide range of functionalities aimed at providing comprehensive financial and lifestyle services for users:
- Registration and Login – An intuitive registration process with identity verification using documents and selfies.
- Account Management – Support for multiple accounts and currencies, including USD and Iraqi dinars.
- Payments – Sending and receiving payments via QR codes, transfers between accounts and cards.
- Transaction History – Viewing recent transactions and detailed expense reports.
- Lifestyle Services – A marketplace for transportation services, food ordering, and other services directly accessible from the app.
- Maps and Locations – Finding the nearest ATMs and branches with navigation capabilities.
Final Product and Implementation
In the NASS E-Payment project, we delivered the following key elements:
1. Roadmap and Backlog
We developed a detailed roadmap and backlog that included all dependencies, enabling smooth progress through the initial development phase. This plan allowed for effective project management and progress tracking.
2. Designs and Branding
Our specialists prepared comprehensive designs for most required screens and an interactive prototype that allowed the client to test the application before final implementation. Also created a cohesive branding that ensures the app has a modern and appealing look.
3. Architecture Documentation
We produced detailed documentation for the chosen system architecture, covering all essential elements needed to meet the project requirements. This documentation ensures that the system is scalable, secure, and efficient, meeting high-quality standards.
Result – A Comprehensive Fintech Application
Through teamwork and dedication, established a solid foundation for the development of the NASS E-Payment application. Despite cultural and technical challenges, the project was completed as planned, and the final application was well-received by the client.
Potential and Future Development
The NASS E-Payment application has significant growth potential, including expanding lifestyle functionalities and entering other markets in the MENA region. Initially planned as an end-to-end model, the project transitioned to having a core team on the C&P side with an additional development team on the client side to address country-specific requirements and integrate with existing services. The application is poised to become a leading fintech solution in the Iraqi market.
